The Lovepost accepts meaningful submissions from artists of any kind: writers, photographers, videographers, illustrators and painters are all welcome.
The theme is always love. Even when not using love in the handle or title, it may be useful to think of your piece as being entitled “For the love of… [brothers, shoes, travel, architecture, netball, etc] even if it is something more complex or with a negative twist such as “For the love of postnatal depression” or “For the love of capitalism”. Freely explore the darkest thrust of humanity, we only ask that you always return to the theme of love within your piece. Love offers a positive answer to the troubles of the heart and world, and to transmit more of it is the purpose of The Lovepost. We live on a diverse planet. Particularly if you’re writing a blog, we know it’s your opinion, but we encourage you to avoid ethnocentrism, heteronormativity and sociocentrism.
At The Lovepost we accept all of the following
- Carefully researched and well written articles (journalism)
- Think/opinion pieces (supported by credible sources)
- Photo essays
We love it when you can supply your own images with your writing. Of course we know this isn’t always possible and in that case we will supply images for you. If we feel the images you have supplied do not match The Lovepost's style, we will replace them with images of our choice. Please be okay with them even if they don’t match the pictures in your head.
Contributions can be any length. We accept short, medium and long-form writing. As long as it’s interesting, people will read it.
