Museum exhibit of (taxonomical) bushwren bird on blue surface with a tag having the species name

The bushwren (Xenicus longipes) or Tāmaki Paenga Hira, as they are known locally, is a small, flightless bird species endemic to Aotearoa New Zealand. The species became extinct because of invasive mammalian predators. The last of them were seen in 1978. Credit: Auckland Museum
