Managing Editor: Themes & Conscious Community
Kate Kawachi brings a thoughtful, intersectional approach to storytelling. With a background in journalism, editing and publishing, Kate is passionate about uncovering the roots of social, political and socioeconomic issues that define our world. Her writing reflects a multi-layered perspective influenced by her multicultural upbringing—she has family roots in New Zealand but spent most of her life in the United States.
Kate earned her BA in English Studies from Smith College, graduating cum laude, and later completed a post-graduate certificate in Online Marketing from Duke University. She has worked as an editor for Cambridge Day, where she refined her skills in pitching stories, interviewing sources and creating meaningful content. She currently also supports AmeriCorps through her role with ACE, managing communications and content creation for their social platforms.
Driven by curiosity, compassion and a sharp editorial eye, Kate is committed to producing work that challenges dominant narratives and uplifts diverse voices.
